Hello and welcome to my very first public post on God.
I don’t claim to be an expert, I’m not ‘chosen’ and what I write is basically my opinion from years of seeking. If you don’t agree with something I write, great. That’s your right as a human.
So who am I?
I’m a Gen Xer who has spent most of my life believing that God is with me and I can just talk to Him (him is comfortable for me, you may have another pronoun) anytime I want. I was raised Catholic, though casually. My mother told me that God is always there and I can just talk to him about whatever at any time. I think this is the most important things she ever taught me.
I believe in the sacraments because they make me feel something. I suspect that Christianity is probably just one of many many creation “myths” that people in a specific region invented to explain their world. But I feel it. I believe that Jesus was a real person and that the Bible is written by men from a culture much different than ours today. That means that I think the Bible is an interpretation of the word of God. It was written by humans and humans are fallible.
I don’t know if anyone will ever read this. I don’t know if I’ll publicize it. I am just one of many, many opinionated people on the internet.
So if you are reading this, thanks! I love debates and honesty and real people.
